33. Queft. For what Caufe is Christ called, The ONLY BEGOTTEN SON OF GOD, when we alfo are the Sons of God?

Anf. Becaufe CHRIST alone is the eternal and natural Son of the étera Father, and we bare but Sons adopted of the Father, by Grace, for his Sake.

34 Queft. Wherefore calleft thou bim, OUR LORD?

Anf. Because He hath redeemed both our Body and Soul from Sin, not with Gold nor Silver, but with his precious Blood, and hath delivered us from all the Power of the Devil, and hath hereby acquired a Right to claim us as his own Property .

That He, all the Time of his Life, which He liv'd upon Earth, but especially at the End thereof, n fuftained the Wrath of God, both in Body and Soul, against the Sin of all Mankind, that He might by his Pafion, as the only o propitiatory Sacrifice, deliver our Body and Soul from everlasting Damnation, and purchase unto us the Favour of God, Righteoufnefs, and everlasting Life.

38. Queft. For what Caufe fhould He Suffer under, PILATE, as bis Iudge?

Anf. That He being innocent and condemned a before a civil Judge, might b deliver us from the fevere Judgment of God, which remained for all Men.

39. Queft. But is there not fomewhat more in it, that He was fafined to the CROSS, than if He had fuffered any other Kind of Death?

Anf. There is certainly more. For by this I am affured, that He took upon Himself the Curfe, which did lie on me. For the Death of the Crofs was curfed of God.

46. Queft. How understand you that, HE ASCENDED INTO HEAVEN?

Anf. That Chrift (his Difciples looking on) was c taken up from Earth into Heaven, and is ftill d there for our Sakes, and will be, untill He come again to judge the Quick and

47. Queft. Is not Chrift then with us untill the End of the World, as He bath promised?

Anf. Chrift is true God, and true Man, and fo according to his e hu. man Nature, He is not now on Earth: but according to his f Godhead, Majefty, Grace, and Spirit, He is at no Time abfent from us.

48. Qucft. Are not by this Means the two Natures in Chrift pulled afunder, if kis human Nature be not wherefoever bis divine Nature is.
