The plats not receiving any artificial fertilizers are grouped in Table No. 5, and the yield of grain in pounds and bushels, and of straw in pounds and tons, is given for each plat, together with the average of the 25 plats. In Table No. 6 will be found the yield per acre of grain and straw of each plat receiving an application of special fertilizers, and the average yield per acre of each group of plats receiving the same kind of fertilizer. From this it will be seen that the yield of the plats to which the special fertilizers were applied differs but little from the average yield of all of the nothing plats.-a difference, in fact, less than that observed in the group of nothing plats adjoining that of each group of fertilizers.
