In submitting the foregoing report I would call the special attention of the committee to the award in Division A, Class 5, Alderneys and Galloways. The committee of awards consisted of F. M. Holloway of Hillsdale, Chairman, and John Lessiter and J. H. Woodman, the former secretary of the Hillsdale County Agricultural Society, and the two latter owners and stock-breeders of high standing in Oakland county. This committee construed the intent of the executive board to be to award to each class of animals same premiums as for Class 4, Ayrshires, and so awarded the foregoing premiums, which action was not sanctioned by the business committee, and the premiums withheld, subject to your action in the premises. The award amounts to one hundred and fifty ($150) dollars, and I am in receipt of numerous letters of inquiry concerning its payment.

The special attention of the committee is also called to protest in Division D, Class 24, of W. D. King & Co., manufacturers, under which protest the awards upon wheel cultivators were withheld from publication, and the said protest is herewith submitted.
