The Committee was established in accordance with the resolution of the Economic and Social Council, dated 15 February 1946. A number of proposals put forward by governments and various organizations was also before the Conference. As a result of the deliberations of the Conference as recorded in the minutes and reports of the respective committees and sub-committees and of the plenary sessions, the following instruments were drawn up and separately signed: Constitution of the World Health Organization. Arrangement for the Establishment of an Interim Commission of the World Health Organization. Protocol Concerning the Office International d'Hygiène publique. The Conference adopted the following resolution: "The Conference notes with gratification the steps already taken by the Secretary-General of the United Nations to provide temporary machinery for carrying on the remaining activities of the League of Nations Health Organization, as recommended in Resolution V of the Technical Preparatory Committee on 5 April 1946, and requests the Secretary-General of the United Nations, in order to avoid duplication of functions, to make the necessary arrangements for transferring to the Interim Commission of the World Health Organization as soon as possible such functions of the League of Nations Health Organization as have been assumed by the United Nations.” IN WITNESS WHEREOF the undersigned delegates sign this Final Act.
