The Vice President signed the enrolled bill (H. R. 48) last reported to have been examined, and it was delivered to the committee to be presented to the President of the United States.

Mr. Fairfield, from the Committee on Naval Affairs, who were instructed to inquire into the subject, submitted a report, accompanied by a resolution (S. R. 30) for the relief of G. R. Barry, a purser in the United States navy which was read, and passed to the second reading.

The said resolution was read the second time, by unanimous consent and considered as in Committee of the Whole: and, having been amended it was reported to the Senate, and the amendment was concurred in. Ordered, That it be engrossed, and read a third time.
