A bill entitled an act in relation to all companies or associations transacting the business of fire, life and marine insurance, within this State.

Mr. McKinley gave notice that at some future day he would ask leave to introduce

A bill appropriating the swamp lands in Manitou county for the purpose of building roads and draining the same.

Mr. Smith offered the following:

Resolved, That the Clerk of the House procure to be made diagram of this hall, designating the location of members by name, No. of district and county, and furnish 200 copies for the use of the members and officers of the same.

Mr. Fowler gave notice that at some future day he would ask leave to introduce

A bill to change the name of Lather H. Preston and Uriah C. Preston,

Mr. Reynolds offered the following:

Resolved, That one thousand copies each of the following documents be published, for the use of the House, to-wit: Annual report of the State Treasurer; report of the boards of trustees of the Michigan Asylums; annual report of the Inspectors of State Prison; annual report of the Auditor General; annual report of the Commissioner of the State Land Office, Superintendent of Public Instruction, and heads of other State departments.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Driggs gave notice that at some future day he would ask leave to introduce

A bill to amend the constitution of the State of Michigan, so as to provide for annual instead of biennial sessions of the legislature.

Mr. Raymond gave notice that he would at some future day ask leave to introduce

A bill in relation to a State road from Saginaw county to Cheboygan. Mr. E. H. Thomson offered the following:

Resolved, That 1,000 copies of the report of the Trustees of the Asylum for the Deaf, Dumb and Blind, at Flint, be ordered printed for the use of the Trustees of the same; also, the same number of copies for the use of the Trustees of the Insane Asylum, at Kalamazoo.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Starkweather gave notice that at some future day he would ask leave to introduce

A bill to amend chapter 10, compiled laws of Michigan, in relation to the powers and duties of the Board of Auditors and the Board of Supervisors of the county of Wayne.

Mr. Mussey offered the following

Resolved, That 2,500 additional copies of Gov. Wisner message be printed in the Euglish language for the use of this House.

After discussion the resolution was withdrawn by the mover.

Mr. Daniels renewed it.

The question being on the adoption of the resolution it was lost.

Mr. Carr gave notice that at some future day he would ask leave to introduce

A bill to change the name of the township of Jerome in the county of Midland;

Also, that he will ask leave to introduce

A bill to amend an act to provide for assessing property at its true value, and for levying and collecting taxes thereon.

A bill to amend section 13, 17, and 23 of an act entitled "an act rel ative to plank roads," approved March 13, 1848, and to amend an act amendatory thereto, approved February 9, 1853.

Resolved, That three hundred copies of the Governor's Message be printed in the Chippewa language.

Mr. G. W. Brown offered the following:

Resolved, That the use of this Hall be tendered to those that wish to meet here on Monday evenings, for the purpose of a union prayer meeting, when not otherwise occupied.

Which was adopted.

Mr. E H. Thomson offered the following:

Resolved, That the committee on rules and joint rules be and they are hereby instructed to inquire into the expediency of having an additional standing committee of the House to be called the Committee on Geological Survey and to report the same with all convenient dispatch.
