AN ACT to extend the time for locating Virginia military land warrants, and for returning the surveys thereon to the secretary of the department of war. E it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America, in Congress assembled, That the of ficers and soldiers of the Virginia line on continental establishment, their heirs or assigns entitled to bounty lands within the tract reserved by Virginia, between the little Miami and Sciota rivers, for satisfying the legal bounties to her officers and soldiers upon continental establishment, shall be allowed a further term of five years, from and after the passage of this act, to obtain warrants and complete their locations, and a further term of seven years, from and after the passage of this act as aforesaid, to return their surveys and warrants, or certified copies of warrants to the office of the secretary of the war department, any thing in any former act to the contrary notwithstanding: Provided, That no locations as aforesaid, within the abovementioned tract, shall, after the passing of this act, be made on tracts of land for which patents had previously been issued, or which had been previously surveyed; and any patent which may nevertheless be obtained for land located contrary to the provisions of this section, shall be considered as null and void. E it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America, in Congress assembled, That the Names of secretary of war be, and he is hereby direct-ed to place the following named persons, whose claims have been transmitted to Congress, pursuant to a law passed the 10th of April, one thousand eight hundred and six, on the pension list of invalid pensioners of the United States, according to the rates, and to commence at the times herein mentioned, that is to say: Gideon Griggs, at the rate of two dolpersons to be lars and fifty cents per month, to complaced on the pension list: mence on the ninth day of December, one thousand eight hundred and nine. and rates.
