AMERICAN GAS-LIGHT ASSOCIATION.

The first meeting of this Association was held in pursuance of the following call, issued at an informal preliminary meeting, held in the city of Cleveland, Ohio, in September, 1872.

CALL:

DETROIT, March 12, 1873. You are requested to appoint, not to exceed three delegates, to attend a convention of gentlemen from the Illuminating Gas Companies of the United States, to be held in the city of New York, on the 16th day of April next, to consider the importance of organizing a National Association, and the best method and materials for manufacturing gas, and to promote the common interests of the companies and the public. The meeting will convene at "Knickerbocker Cottage,' "No. 456 Sixth avenue, at 10 o'clock, A. M. This notice, or the certificate of secretary of the companies invited, will constitute you members thereof.
