CROSS-REFERENCES Individual STAR abstracts are not ordinarily cross-referenced, except for certain conference reports or book translations that have had separate abstracts written for their component papers or chapters. Citations and abstracts of the components follow immediately after those of the parent document. When the subject content of a component differs sufficiently from the general content of the parent, a cross-reference citation also is printed at the end of the category to which it normally would have been assigned if it were independent. DOCUMENTS ON MICROFICHE (1) Documents on microfiche are designated by a pound sign (#) following the accession number. The pound sign is used without regard to the source or quality of the microfiche.
