they beseech him to put his hand upon him. And he took him aside from the multitude, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spit, and touched his tongue. And looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened. And straightway his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he spake plain. And he charged them that they should tell no man; but the more he charged them, so much the more a great deal they published it; and were beyond measure astonished, saying He hath done all things well: he maketh both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak.

AND it came to pass the day after, that he went into a city called Nain; and many of his disciples went with him, and much people. And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way. and as he was now going down, his servants met him, and told him, saying, thy son liveth. Then enquired he of them the hour when he began to amend. And they said unto him, Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him. So the father knew that it was at the same hour, in the which Jesus said unto him, Thy son liveth, and himself believed, and his whole house.

7. CHRIST calms the Tempest.
Matt. viii. 23.

AND when he was entered into a ship, his disciples followed him. And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep. And his disciples came to him and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish. And he saith unto them, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm. 'But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!
