they beseech him to put his hand upon him. And he took him aside from the multitude, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spit, and touched his tongue. And looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened. And straightway his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he spake plain. And he charged them that they should tell no man; but the more he charged them, so much the more a great deal they published it; and were beyond measure astonished, saying He hath done all things well: he maketh both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak.

AND it came to pass the day after, that he went into a city called Nain; and many of his disciples went with him, and much people. Now when he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and much people of the city was with her. And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not, And he came and touched the bier, and they that bare him stood still. Aud he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise. mother. And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet is risen up among us; and, That God hath visited his people. And this rumour of him went forth throughout all Judea, and throughout all the region round about.

So Jesus came again into Cana of Galilee, where he made the water wine. there was a certain nobleman, whose son was sick at Capernaum. So the father knew that it was at the same hour, in the which Jesus said unto him, Thy son liveth, and himself believed, and his whole house.

7. CHRIST calms the Tempest.
Matt. viii. 23.

AND when he was entered into a ship, his disciples followed him. And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep. And his disciples came to him and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish. And he saith unto them, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm. 'But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!
