And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed; and all flesh shall see it together. For the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.

46. He describes the Character and Sufferings of CHRIST.

The spirit of the Lord God is upon him: for he hath anointed him to preach the Gospel to the poor; to heal the broken hearted, to give freedom to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind; to set at liberty the oppressed, and to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.

He was oppressed and afflicted; yet he opened not his mouth. As a lamb led to slaughter, or as a sheep before his shearers is dumb, so he opened not his mouth.
