'Twas he, and we'll adore his name,
That form'd us by a word;
'Tis he restores our ruin'd frame,
Salvation to the Lord!

Hosanna! let the earth and skies
Repeat the joyful sound;

Rocks, hills, and vales reflect the voice
In one eternal round.

AWAKE, my heart, arise my tongue,

Prepare a tuneful voice,

In God, the life of all my joys,

Aloud will I rejoice.

'Tis he adorn'd my naked soul,
And made salvation mine;
Upon a poor polluted worm,
He makes his graces shine.

And lest the shadow of a spot
Should on my soul be found,
He took the robe the Saviour wrought,
And cast it all around.

The Spirit wrought my faith and love,
And hope, and ev'ry grace;
But Jesus spent his life to work
The robe of righteousness.

Strangely, my soul, art thou array'd
By the great sacred Three;

In sweetest harmony of praise,
Let all thy powers agree.

FATHER, Son, and Holy Ghost,
One God whom we adore,
Join we with the heavenly host,

To praise thee evermore.
Live by heaven and earth ador'd,
Three in One, and One in Three;
Holy, holy, holy Lord,

All glory be to thee.

WITH all my powers of heart and tongue,
I'll praise my Maker, in my song ;
Angels shall hear the notes I raise,
Approve the song and join the praise.

Angels that make thy church their care
Shall witness my devotion there;
While holy zeal directs mine eyes
To thy fair temple in the skies.
I'll sing thy truth and mercy, Lord,
I'll sing the wonders of thy word;
Not all thy works and names below
So much thy power and glory shew.

To God I cried when troubles rose ;
He heard me, and subdued my foes,
He did my rising fears controul,

And strength diffused through all my soul.
Amidst a thousand snares I stand,
Upheld and guarded by thy hand;
Thy words my fainting soul revive,
And keep my dying faith alive.

Grace will complete what grace begins,
To save from sorrows and from sins;
The work that wisdom undertakes

Eternal mercy ne'er forsakes.

PRAISE ye the Lord! 'tis good to raise
Our hearts and voices in his praise;
His nature and his works invite,
To make this duty our delight.

The Lord builds up Jerusalem,
And gathers nations to his name;
His mercy melts the stubborn soul,
And makes the broken spirit whole.
He form'd the stars, those heavenly flames,
He counts their numbers, calls their names;
His wisdom's vast, and knows no bound,
A deep where all our thoughts are drown'd.
Great is our Lord, and great his might;
And all his glories infinite:

He crowns the meek, rewards the just,
And treads the wicked to the dust.

The saints are lovely in his sight;
He views their duties with delight;

He sees their hope, he knows their fear,
And looks, and loves his image there.

GIVE to our God immortal praise :
Mercy and truth are all his ways;
Wonders of grace to God belong,
Repeat his mercies in your song.

Give to the Lord of lords renown,
The King of kings with glory crown:
His mercies ever shall endure,

When lords and kings are known no more.

He built the earth, be spread the sky,
And fixed the starry lights on high;
Wonders of grace to God belong,
Repeat his mercies in your song.
He fills the sun with morning light,
He bid the moon direct the night:
His mercies ever shall endure,

When sun and moon shall shine no more.

He sent his Son, with power, to save
From guilt, and darkness, and the grave;
Wonders of grace to God belong,

Repeat his mercies in your song.

Through this vain world he guides our feet, And leads us to his heavenly seat:

His mercies ever shall endure,

When this vain world shall be no more.

1st. PART.

THE God of Abr'ham praise,
Who reigns enthron'd above;
Ancient of everlasting days;
And God of love!

Jehovah, great I AM!

By earth and heaven confess'd; I bow and bless the sacred name, For ever bless'd.

The God of Abr❜ham praise,

At whose supreme command,
From earth I'd rise, and seek the joys

At his right hand:

I'd all on earth forsake,

Its wisdom, fame, and power;

And him my only portion make,

My shield and tower.

The God of Abr❜ham praise,

Whose all-sufficient grace

Shall guide me all my happy days,

In all his ways:

He calls a worm his frien

He makes himself my God:
