2 Here when thy people seek thy face,
And dying sinners pray to live,
Hear, thou in heaven thy dwelling place,
And when thou hearest, O forgive!

3 Here, when thy messengers proclaim
The blessed gospel of thy Son,
Still by the power of his great name
Be mighty signs and wonders done.

4 Oh! Holy Spirit ne'er depart!
Yet choose not, Lord this house alone;
Thy kingdom come in ev'ry heart,
In every bosom fix thy throne.

worship.

MONTGOMERY.

ORD of Hosts, to thee we raise,
Here a house of pray'r and praise;
Thou thy people's hearts prepare
Here to meet for praise and pray'r.

2 Here to thee a temple stand,
While the sea shall girt the land;
Here reveal thy mercy sure,

While the sun and moon endure.

3 Hallelujah-earth and sky To the joyful sound reply; Hallelujah-hence ascend

Prayer and praise till time shall end

AND will the great eternal God

On earth establish his abode?
And will he from his radiant throne
Avow our temples for his own?

2 These walls we to thy honour raise;
Long may they echo with thy praise;
And thou descending fill the place
With choicest tokens of thy grace.

3 And in the great decisive day, When God the nations shall survey, May it before the world appear, That crowds were born to glory here.

1 WHEN his salvation bringing,

To Sion Jesus came,

The children all stood singing
Hosannah to his name:

Nor did their zeal offend him,
But as he rode along,

He let them still attend him,
And smil'd to hear their song.

Hosannah to Jesus they sing.

And since the Lord retaineth
His love for children still,
Though now as King he reigneth
In Sion's heav'nly hill;

We'll flock around his banner
Who sits upon the throne,
And cry aloud, "Hosannah
"To David's royal Son!"

Hosannah to Jesus our King!

For, should we fail proclaiming
Our great Redeemer's praise,
The stones, our silence shaming,
Would their Hosannah raise.
But shall we only render

The tribute of our words?
No-while our hearts are tender,
May they too be the Lords.

Hosannah to Jesus we'll sing.

GRINFIELL

1 WHAT are meetings here but part ings?

What are ecstasies, but smartings?
Unions what, but separations?
What attachments, but vexations ?
Ev'ry smile' but brings its tear,
Love its ache, and hope its fear;
All that's sweet must bitter prove;
All we hold most dear-remove!

2 Foes may harm us; but the dearest,
Ever, here, are the severest:
Sorrows wound us; but we borrow
From delight, the keenest sorrow :
'Tis to love our farewells owe
All their emphasis of woe:

Most it charms that most annoys;
Joys are griefs, and griefs are joys!

LESS'D be the dear uniting love,
That will not let us part;

Our bodies may far off remove,
But still we're join'd in heart.

2 Join'd in one spirit to our Head,
Where he appoints we go;
And still in Jesu's footsteps tread,
And do his work below.

3 0 let us ever walk in him,
And nothing know beside,
Nothing desire, nothing esteem,
But Jesus crucified.

4 Closer and closer let us cleave,
To his belov'd embrace;
Expect his fulness to receive,
And grace to answer grace.

5 Oh let us hasten to the day,

Which shall our flesh restore,

When death shall all be done away,
And friends shall part no more.
