Blessed are they who mourn,

be comforted.

for they shall

Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.

Blessed are they who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled.

Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.

Blessed are they who are persecuted for righteousness sake, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.

Blessed are ye when they shall reproach and persecute you, and shall say every evil word against you falsely on my account: rejoice and be exceeding glad, for great is your reward in Heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets who were before you.

Then the Minister shall say to those who are to receive the Communion:

L

ET us, earnestly repenting of our sins, and desiring to live in love and charity with our neighbours, and to lead a life in obedience to the commandments of God, and to walk henceforth in his holy ways, unite to partake in faith of this holy communion to our comfort and edification: and let us render our grateful thanks to Almighty God, who has promised forgiveness to all who sincerely repent and turn away from iniquity.

Then shall the Minister say,

Let us pray.

A General Confession, to be said by the Communicants, kneeling.

LMIGHTY God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Maker of all things, Judge of all men. We acknowledge our manifold sins, which from time to time we have committed in thought, word, and deed. We sincerely repent, and are heartily sorry for these our misdoings. Have mercy upon us, O Father: forgive us all that is past, and grant that we may hereafter serve and please thee in newness of life, to the honour and glory of thy holy name. Amen.

The Absolution; or Remission of Sins.

LMIGHTY God, our heavenly Father, of thy great mercy thou hast promised forgiveness of sins to all them that, with hearty repentance and true faith, turn unto thee: Have mercy upon us, pardon, and deliver us from all evil, confirm and strengthen us in all goodness, and finally bring us to everlasting life, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Then shall the Minister say,

HEAR the blessed words of our Saviour

Jesus Christ.

Come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Matt.

xi. 28.

God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that every one believing in him. should not perish, but have everlasting life. John iii. 16.

Then shall the Minister 80%,

T is very meet, right, and our bounden duty, that we should at all times, and in all places, give thanks unto thee, O Lord, Holy Father, Almighty, Everlasting God.

Therefore with angels, and archangels, and with all the company of heaven, we laud and magnify thy glorious name, evermore praising thee, and saying-Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God of Hosts: heaven and earth are full of thy glory: Glory be to thee, O Lord most high. Amen.

Then the Minister shall read the words of the Institution of the Lord's Supper.

HE apostle Paul thus wrote to the Church

at Corinth :-"I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, that the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: and when he had given thanks he break it and said, 'Take, eat, this is my body which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.' After the same manner, also, he took the cup when he had supped, saying, 'This cup is the New Testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it in remembrance of me. For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come." "

that by reason of the frailty of our nature we cannot always stand upright; grant to us such strength and protection, as may support us in all dangers, and carry us through all temptations. Amen.

Collect for Light.

ERCIFUL Lord, we beseech thee to cast thy bright beams of light upon thy Church, that it being enlightened by the doctrine of our Saviour and his Apostles, may so walk in the light of thy truth that it may at length attain to the light of everlasting life, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Collect for Merey.

GOD, the protector of all that trust in thee, without whom nothing is strong, nothing is holy; increase and multiply upon us thy mercy, that thou, being our ruler and guide, we may so pass through things temporal, that we finally lose not the things eternal: grant this, O heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Collect for Aid against all Perils.

LIGHTEN our darkness, we beseech thee,

Lord, and by thy great mercy defend us from all the perils and dangers of this night, and may we awake in the love of thee, and of thy Son Jesus Christ. Amen.

Collect for all estates of men.

LMIGHTY and everlasting God, by whose
Spirit the whole body of the Church is

governed and sanctified; Receive our supplications and prayers, which we offer before thee for all estates of men in thy holy Church, that every member of the same, in his vocation and ministry, may truly and godly serve thee; through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.

Collect for Direction and Safety.

LORD God, mercifully help thy faithful people on their way to thy kingdom. May they flourish before thee like trees planted by the rivers which bring forth their fruit in their season. Incline them to meditate upon thee, and to delight in thy law, and in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Suffer them not to wither by any blight of temptation: nor to fall by any of the wiles of their adversaries. Let them evermore have the blessedness of those who walk not with wicked men, and are found not in the way of sinners, nor in the seat of the scornful. Pitifully regard all persons sinning against thee, lest they become as chaff which the wind driveth away; and by thy great mercy bring all men to the knowledge and love of thyself through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

A Prayer for Support under Affliction.

LMIGHTY God, thou art the refuge and comforter of all thy loving and faithful children everywhere. Thou forsakest not those who trust thee, though temptation, trial, and poverty overtake them. Cheer us,
