upon the article of Calicoes as being I judged the most extensive manufactory; but that of hosiery may be equally as much so, of which there are whole districts totally out of employ, and hundreds of families gone to the parish in the High Peak only.

"Commerce like beauty knows no second spring." Was not the "ALARM IN THE TOWER," as given an account of, in the public papers in January 1816 a very peculiar and strong sign? Combine the time, and the place (the room) where the "Royal Regalia." the Crown and Sceptre is deposited, and then refer to the 42d page of the Little book.

I could wish my readers to have serious reflections upon the last verse of the last chapter of Daniel, which I transcribe and mark. "But go thou thy way till the end be; for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days," It is therefore very probable that "the end of the days." when HE will "stand in his lot," is at the conclusion of "the time of the end." See the 9th verse and refer to the 2nd.

See the 19th page Introduction, and the 21st Second Supplement. The Messiah-the "messenger of the covenant," will be a King to the Jews upon the second advent. "To this end (or for this purpose) was I born." The passage therefore in the Supplement ought to have been, they will acknowledge him as their Messiah-their King. Read the latter part of the 18th chapter of John, for

'mentioned to have an allusion to the "time of the end," or to "this end." to the restoration of the "whole house of Israel" He will then be their Priest, Prophet, and King.

The British Hero, or England's Idol, being left in command of 150 thousand men: it is therefore the British and Ludovicus in hostile array against "they" "those" "them"; for HE by the treaty was to use his "discretion" and to "concert his measures with the King of France (Ludovicus) against every revolutionary convulsion which might tend to overthrow by force the order of things at present established." See the 25th and 26 pages of The Little Book.

I must again call my readers to the 54th 55th and 56th pages of the Little Book respecting the slave trade, and likewise desire their reference to the 71st page of the Second Supplement. Doctor Thorpe, who was chief justiceand judge at Sierra Leone, in his "Postscript" to "the reply point by point," speaking of the negociations of Lord Castlereagh says "that the King of France has been induced to uphold Bonaparte's decree for abolishing the slave trade; and that Spain, although she refused nearly a million of pounds to relinquish the trade; has confined his subjects to the South of Cape Formosa ; still (he says) I will undertake to affirm, THAT THE TRADE WILL BE INCREASED, AND

THE NEGROES WRETCHEDNESS AUGMENTED IN THE YEAR 1816 BEYOND ANY FORMER PERIOD." Which by acconnts in July of the said year, are but too lamentably confirmed. He then gives a picture of their increased misery by transferring the exclusive commerce to Spain and Portugal, who contrary to every principle of justice (he adds) have been licenced to carry it on. Remember, Spain and Portugal are two of the nations we have been fighting for, which warfare has cost England so much blood and treasure, and been one means of bringing us into the distress we now labour under.

It was mentioned in the House of Commons on the 18th of March 1816 that there were in Newgate 58 persons under sentence of death. "Wickedness has increased, is increasing, and will lead on to destruction." See Second Supplement pages 72 and 73.

From a late "Christian Treaty," or as it has since been called "Holy League" entered into by Russia, Austria, and Prussia, it is pro bable these may be the "three powers going against Turkey," for I suppose its intended subjugation to have been the primary cause of the treaty, Turkey not being a Christian state. See note Little Book, page 47 as "three Christian powers, and Second Supplement page 68, (I have said in the latter place "the other may be the king of fierce countenance," but we may judge it now to be Prussia-HE at an after period, having that appellation) and remem

ber, those three monarchies formerly partitioned Poland, but now the first has obtained the whole of Poland, the second great part of Italy, and the third near the whole of Saxony. And if the subjugation of Turkey is effected (from the wonderful prepondrance they have obtain ed ("can we prevent them" going to India. See 33d page Little Book. It must be remembered these three powers are the three first beasts in the 7th chapter of Daniel. See Introduction pages 5, 6 and 7,

My readers must refer to a note in the 38th page, Second Supplement, and compare it to the situation of France, in the latter end of the year 1815, and the former part of the present one of 1816.-What a religious change!! Persecution has reared its baneful head, in consequence of Religious Establishments.

In the explanation of the first verse 14th chapter of Revelations (See 19th page Little Book) I have desired, that this first verse might be applied to the last verse of the 7th chapter. It is there found that the Lamb "feeds them" which must figuratively mean, takes care of, or preserves them; and in the series afterwards "leads them unto living fountains of water.' THEN GOD shall wipe away all tears from their eyes." There is not a single passage more strongly applicable to the Jews restoration than the one quoted. Ye of the "House of Israel, in the latter days shall consider it.” Read the Apocalyptic chapter with attention,

The "STONE" in the second chapter of Daniel which in the "latter days" is to "smite the image" and afterwards "become a great mountain" (particularly so, becoming conspicu ous) and remarked upon in page 57 Introduction, and in page 39, Second Supplement, must be of a very peculiar and astonishing nature, as it is to smile the image upon his feet, (or "its feet" See 8th page Introduction, and the 10th Little Book) that were of iron and clay, and to break them to pieces." The expression "filled the whole earth" can only mean, the circum- · stance of the "stone" and the "mountain" be- ; ing known, circulated, or established through the whole world, and which in the interpretation of the dream was to "come to pass hereafter." Examine and think well upon the 4th page Introduction, where I have said "I leave the 45th verse for the stone to tell (or shew) the Stone cut out of the MOUNTAIN WITHOUT HANDS," and probably the word cut, a painful, afflictive, or distressing seperation, the stone and the mountain being figurative, the former respecting the individual, the latter respecting the place.

As we have not heard of the arrival (at least I have not) of A-bad-ons "costly palace" at St. Helena (See 29th page Second Supplement) I ask was the whole a hoax upon the public, or was the measure given up? Living
