[SEC. 1.] Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That a pension of one hundred dollars per annum be $100 per annum allowed and paid, out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated, in half yearly payments, to Nancy Tompkins, the mother of John Place, late a seaman in the navy of the United States, for and during the period of her natural life, commencing from the sixth day of December, eighteen hundred and forty-seven.
