Name may agree in the truth of thy holy Word, and live in unity, and godly love. We beseech thee also to save and defend all Christian Kings, Princes, and Governours; and specially thy servant VICTORIA our Queen; that under her we may be godly and quietly governed; And grant unto her whole Council, and to all that are put in authority under her, that they may truly and indifferently minister justice, to the punishment of wickedness and vice, and to the maintenance of thy true religion, and virtue. Give grace, O heavenly Father, to all Bishops and Curates, that they may both by their life and doctrine set forth thy true and lively Word, and rightly and duly administer thy holy Sacraments: And to all thy people give thy heavenly grace; and especially to this congregation here present; that, with meek heart and due reverence, they may hear, and receive thy holy Word; truly serving thee in holiness and righteousness all the days of their life. And we most humbly beseech thee of thy goodness, O Lord, to comfort and succour all them, who in this transitory life are in trouble, sorrow, need, sickness, or any other adversity. And we also bless thy holy Name for all thy servants departed this life in thy faith and fear; beseeching thee to give us grace so to follow their good examples, that with them we may be partakers of thy heavenly kingdom: Grant this, O Father, for Jesus Christ's sake, our only Mediator and Advocate. Amen.

Then the people sing, or the bishop reads, the

following:

LORY be to God on high, and in earth peace: good will towards men.

WE praise thee, we bless thee, we worship thee, we glorify thee,

We give thanks unto thee, for thy great glory:
O Lord, O King, O Heavenly, O God, O
Father, O Almighty;

O Lord, O Only-begotten, O Jesu Christ;
And O Holy Spirit.

LORD, O God, O Lamb of God, O Son
of the Father:

Thou who takest away the sin of the world, have mercy upon us;

Thou who takest away the sin of the world, receive our prayer;

Thou who sittest at the right hand of the Father, have mercy upon us:

For thou alone art holy, thou alone art Lord,
O Jesu Christ,

To the glory of God the Father.
Amen.

Then the bishop dismisses the people, saying: THE peace of God, which passeth all understanding, keep your hearts and minds in the knowledge and love of God, and of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

And if the Sunday Prayer has to be read by another person than a bishop, instead of " your hearts and `minds," he says, 66 our hearts and minds."

THE DAILY PRAISE;

OR, THE

PRAYER OF THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY,

ON DAYS ON WHICH THE SUNDAY SERVICE IS
NOT USED.

Bishop. O LORD, open thou our lips.
People. And our mouths shall shew forth thy

praise.

B. O God, make speed to save us.

P. O Lord, make haste to help us.

B. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost.

P. Now and ever, world without end. Amen. B. Praise ye the Lord.

P. The Lord's name be praised.

Then is sung or read the Psalm of the day, according to the table found in the Sunday Service. After the Psalm, the following Doxology is sung:

GLORY be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost: now and ever, world without end. Amen.

On days for which no Psalm is appointed, the following Anthem of the Eastern Church is used instead:

Holy God, Holy and Mighty, Holy and Immortal: Have mercy upon us.

Here follows the Sermon, if there is to be one. Here, also, the ordinances of Baptism, Ordination, and Marriage may be administered, when it is not expedient to administer them in the place appointed for that purpose in the Sunday Service.

Then follows the Te Deum :

E praise thee, O God we acknowledge thee to be the Lord.

All the earth doth worship thee: the Father everlasting.

To thee all Angels cry aloud: the Heavens, and all the Powers therein.

To thee Cherubin, and Seraphin: continually do cry,

Holy, Holy, Holy: Lord God of Sabaoth;

Heaven and earth are full of the Majesty of thy Glory.

The glorious company of the Apostles: praise thee. The goodly fellowship of the Prophets : praise thee. The noble army of Martyrs praise thee.

The holy Church throughout all the world: doth acknowledge thee;

The Father of an infinite Majesty ;
Thine honourable, true: and only Son;
Also the Holy Ghost: the Comforter.

HOU art the King of Glory : O Christ.
Thou art the everlasting Son of the
Father.

:

When thou tookest upon thee to deliver man: thou didst not abhor the Virgin's womb. When thou hadst overcome the sharpness of death: thou didst open the Kingdom of Heaven to all believers.

Thou sittest at the right hand of God: in the Glory of the Father.

We believe that thou shalt come to be our Judge.

We therefore pray thee, help thy servants: whom thou hast redeemed with thy precious blood.

Make them to be numbered with thy Saints: in glory everlasting.

Bishop. O Lord, save thy people :
People. And bless thine heritage.

B. Govern them:

P. And lift them up for ever.
B. Day by day:

P. We magnify thee;

B. And we worship thy Name:
P. Ever world without end.
B. Vouchsafe, O Lord:

P. To keep us this day without sin.

B. O Lord, have mercy upon us :

P. Have mercy upon us.

B. O Lord, let thy mercy lighten upon us :
P. As our trust is in thee.
