The vote on clause 4, section 1,article 3 of State Constitution, which excludes from office all who had sworn, as officers of the Federal or State Government, to support the Constitution of the United States, and subsequently gave aid to the rebellion, was, for the clause, 84410; against it, 124360; maj. against, 39950. The vote on section 7, article 3, which requires officers to swear that they never voluntarily aided the rebellion, was, for the section, 83458; against it, 124715; maj. against, 41257.
