Father Almighty, and All Wise, most holy, just and true, we are not 'worthy to lift our eyes unto Heaven, and to present our prayers to Thee; yet dost Thou bid us call on Thee in time of trouble, and of Thine unspeakable mercy dost always hear and prayers. And so we come. For Whom have we in Heaven but Thee, and there is none upon earth that we desire in comparison of Thee. We bless Thee for the unnumbered benefits, which of Thy immeasurable love Thou hast bestowed upon us. We praise and bless Thee for that wise, and patient solicitude with which Thou dost daily seek to save us from the idolatry and degrading servitude of sin by bringing us out into the clear light and true knowledge of Thy holy purposes. We are Thy handiwork, Thou, Lord, alone art our Creator. We are the sheep of Thy pasture, Thou art our good shepherd. Thou art our Father. We are Thy children, and fellow-heirs with Jesus Christ of Thy power and glory, and all the unsearchable riches of Thy grace. Bless us, Lord. Cause Thy face to shine upon us. Keep us

under the protection of Thy good providence. Be very gracious to us. We put our trust in Thee. Guide us by Thy spirit into the land of righteousness, and in the ways of truth and peace.

Father, we pray for all mankind, that the blessing of Thy Gospel may come into all the earth; that the unwise may be enlightened, the wicked, converted; the weak, strengthened; and that the whole round world may be filled with the knowledge of Thy truth as the waters cover the sea. We pray Thee for our country, for Thy servant , our President, and . the Governor of this Commonwealth, and for all in authority over us; for all our Legislators, Executors, and Magistrates, that in all godliness, and honesty, Thy people may lead a quiet and peaceable life. And grant, to each one of us, that we may be found faithful in our several callings, and grace so to use the gifts which Thou hast bestowed upon us, that they may ever minister to the larger welfare of the world and the greater happiness of all who live around us. Strengthen us for each new experience and emergency, for each occasion of trial, of sorrow or joy, that yet awaits us. And grant that we may so pass through these temporal scenes that we fail not finally to attain Thy heavenly promises, and the crowning glory of everlasting life, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Holy, holy, is the Lord our God: Holy is the Almighty Holy is the Immortal: Heaven and earth are full of Thy glory, Thou Lord of Sabaoth. Angels and archangels, thrones and dominions, principalities and powers cherubim and seraphim, worship and adore Thee, and tell of Thy power and Thy glory, Eternal and beloved Father of our race.

People.

O give thanks unto the Lord, for He is gracious, and His mercy endureth for ever.

Minister.

Great Lord, and Father of men, we also, although we be unworthy, unite with those holy and blessed spirits, and with heart and voice confess the glories of our Lord. Of Thy greatness there is no end, and in Thy justice and Thy goodness, Thou dost measure out Thy purposes for us. Out of the dust were we made, yet didst Thou form us after Thy likeness, and

gavest us laws for a seed of immortality. Even when we sin and refuse to obey Thy voice, Thou dost not leave us or forsake us, sending to every age prophets and preachers of righteousness, with testimonies and blessings, miracles of power and mercy, of love and pity.

People.

O that men would therefore praise the Lord for His goodness, and declare the wonders that He doeth for the children of men!

Minister.

At last, O God, Thou didst send us the Desire of all nations when Thy Son Christ Jesus became incarnate, and dwelt among us, who took upon Him the form of a servant; and went about doing good. He suffered for us, even to the death of the Cross, that we might share His glory, and be made partakers of all the blessings of earth and the immortal felicities of Heaven.

People.

O that men would therefore praise the Lord for His goodness: and declare the wonders that He doeth for the children of men!

Minister.

O Lord our God, what return can we make for all the benefits which Thou hast done unto us? Creator and Father, Protector and Guardian and Guide, Giver of all these faculties of body, mind and soul, the blessings of Religion,
