CHAPTER 28.

Criminals-Reward for.

AN ACT Providing for a Reward for the Arrest of Certain Criminals in this

Territory.

Be it enacted by the Council and House of Representatives of the Territory of Wyoming :

SECTION 1. That any sheriff, or other person or Reward for arpersons, arresting any horse, cattle or mule thief, high resting crimiway robber, mail robber, or person obstructing or attempting to obstruct, or wrecking or attempting to wreck any railroad train in the Territory of Wyoming, shall receive a reward of two hundred and fifty dollars, to be paid by the county where the offense was committed, upon conviction and sentence of the offender to the penitentiary, for the term of not less than one year.

SEC. 2. If the offender is arrested in any other county, outside the or is brought into this Territory upon requisition, the Territory. same reward shall be allowed the party who arrested such party and brings him into this Territory. Approved December 10, 1879.

CHAPTER 29.

Crimes and Punishments.

AN ACT to Define and Punish Certain Crimes and Offenses.

Be it enacted by the Council and House of Representatives of the Territory of Wyoming:

SECTION 1. That every person who shall wilfully, certain misde- maliciously and forcibly break and enter, or wilfully and maliciously without force, enter into any dwelling house, kitchen, office, store house, ware house, malt house, stilling house, banking house, hotel, saloon, mill, pottery, factory, water craft, church or meeting house, railroad car, or any other close inclosure with intent to commit a misdemeanor, or to injure or destroy the property of another, "or make any insolent demand for food or other thing, or in any way disturb the peace of its occupant or occupants of such above described places, premises or. enclosures," shall be deemed guilty of house-breaking, and upon conviction thereof, shall be fined in a sum not more than one hundred dollars and confined in the county jail for a term not exceeding six months.

SEC. 2. Every person who shall unlawfully take without the consent of the owner, any horse, mare, gelding, foal or filly, ass or mule, or any buggy or other vehicle or other personal property from the stable, lot, house, premises or pasture of another, or from a hitching post or rack, or any other place as aforesaid, having been lawfully placed there, with intent to set at large, injure or wrongfully use the animal or vehicle so taken, such person shall be deemed guilty of criminal trespass, and upon conviction fined in any sum not exceeding one hundred dollars, or be imprisoned in the county jail for a term not exceeding three months, or both, and shall also be liable to the party injured in double the amount of damages sustained.

SEC. 3. It shall be the duty of the owner, or person ers of dead having charge of an animal which may die in this animals. Territory, to remove the carcass to a distance of not less than half a mile from the nearest human habitation, or to bury it with not less than two feet of soil over it; and every person failing to so remove or bury such carcass, for more than forty-eight hours, shall upon conviction, be fined in a sum not exceeding one hundred dollars. Penalty. And should such animal be the property or in charge of some person passing through this Territory, then any peace officer may (without warrant) detain the owner or person in charge of such animal, or of the flock or herd from which it died, as soon as such owner or person shall have shown an intention not to so bury or remove said carcass, by removing from it, or removing such flock or herd from it a distance of half a mile or more, a reasonable time, not to exceed two days, until a warrant can issue upon an information duly sworn to. brand upon any such animal may be given in proof of on proof of the ownership of the same.

CHAPTER 30..

Crime-Act Defining, Amendment to.

AN ACT to Amend an Act. entitled "An Act Defining Crime within the Territory of Wyoming.

Be it enacted by the Council and House of Representatives of the Territory of Wyoming:

SECTION 1. That every person who shall be found side the Terri- guilty of larceny, as defined in section forty-two of the crimes act, chapter thirty-five of the compiled laws of 1875, in any state or territory of the United States, outside the Territory of Wyoming, and shall bring into any county of this Territory the property stolen, which property shall be of the value of thirty dollars, in the county into which it is brought, shall be deemed guilty of grand larceny, the same as if the original taking was in said county, and punished accordingly.

SEC. 2. This act shall be in force and effect from and after its passage and approval.

CHAPTER 31.

County Boundaries.

AN ACT to Amend an Act entitled "An Act Defining the Boundaries of Certain
Counties, and Providing for the Organization thereof,"

Approved December 8, 1875.

Be it enacted by the Council and House of Representatives of

the Territory of Wyoming:

SECTION 1. That section two of said act be amended Strike out and by striking out the word "Pease," in third line of said section, and inserting "Johnson" in lieu thereof.

"five" and insert "three."

SEC. 2. That section three of said act be amended by strike out striking out the word "five," in the first line of said section, and inserting "three" in lieu thereof.

SEC. 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
