RULES OF THE COMMISSION FOR THE SETTLEMENT OF CLAIMS UNDER THE CONVENTION OF DECEMBER 5, 1885, BETWEEN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AND THE UNITED STATES OF VENEZUELA. I. The claims shall be entered in a docket, provided for the purpose, in the order of their presentation recognized in Article II of the Convention, and shall be numbered consecutively beginning with the claim first presented, as No. 1. The style in each case shall be: There shall be filed in each case (if not already done), on or before the first Monday in October, 1889, a petition setting forth in plan and concise terms, and without repetition, the facts constituting the grounds of the claim and relied on as entitling the claimant to relief under the Convention; but the Commission, for cause shown, may extend the time for the filing of such petition. III. If the claim be on account of alleged loss or damage as to a number of articles, kinds, or items of property, the amount of loss or damage on account of each, exclusive of interest, must be stated; and in all cases claims for interest must be separately specified, with the rate demanded and time cov |
