LONG MEASURE.

To Father, Son, and Holy Ghost,
All praise and glory be therefore,
As in beginning was, is now,
And so shall be for evermore !

AS THE 104TH PSALM.

By angels in heav'n, of ev'ry degree,
And saints upon earth, all praise be addrest
To God in three Persons, one God ever blest ;
As it has been, now is, and always shall be !

SANCTUS.

Holy, holy, holy, Lord God of Hosts! heaven and earth are full of thy glory. Glory be to thee, O God most high!

From all that dwell below the skies..
From Greenland's icy mountains....

Give to our God immortal praise
Glory to thee, my God, this night.
God of my childhood and my youth.
God of my life, thy constant care.
Great God, what do I see and hear.
Great is the Lord, and great his praise

Hark the glad sound! the Saviour comes..
Hark the herald-angels sing.
How are thy servants blest, O Lord
How blest is he who ne'er consents
How blest the sight, the joy how sweet
How good and pleasant it must be
How just and merciful is God

How long shall I, my God, in vain

How pleasant is thy dwelling-place......

How pleasant 'tis to see.

How shall the young secure their hearts
How short, how narrow is the span.
How vast must their advantage be

I'll praise my Maker with my breath
Immortal King! thro' earth's wide frame
I will give laud and honour both

Let all the earth their voices raise....
Let ev'ry creature join

Let songs of joy to God ascend...
Lo! from the hills my help descends
Lo! he comes, with clouds descending.

May he, whom heav'n and earth obey....
My humbled soul its crimes shall own.
My shepherd is the living Lord

My soul, praise the Lord, speak good of..
My soul, praise the Lord, speak good of..
My soul with patience waits...

No change of times shall ever shock
Now let our songs address the God of peace

O! all ye people, clap your hands
O come! loud anthems let us sing
O God! my gracious God! to thee
O God, my heart is fix'd and bent
O God, my heart is fully bent
O God our Lord, how wonderful
O Lord, thy mercy, my sure hope...

[ocr errors][subsumed][subsumed][ocr errors][subsumed][merged small]

On thee, great Ruler of the skies....
O praise the Lord in that bless'd place
O praise the Lord with one consent....
O praise ye the Lord, prepare your glad..
O render thanks, and bless the Lord
O render thanks to God above.

Soon will the ev'ning star, with silver ray
Stand ye in awe of God's commands

T

That man is blest that stands in awe
Thee I'll extol, my God and King
The festal morn, my God, is come
The heav'ns declare thy glory, Lord
The Lord abounds with tender love....
The Lord my pasture shall prepare
The man is blest that hath not lent
The man is blest, who fears the Lord
The spacious firmament on high
