Ar the close of the second year which has elapsed since the establishment of this periodical publication, we are anxious, while we express to our numerous friends our grateful sense of their continued support, to state, that another year's experience having confirmed us in the views which, on a former occasion, led us to declare our conviction, that, in order to be permanently attractive, our magazine must be REALLY VALUABLE;* we renew to them, with increased confidence in their future favour, the assurance, that EXCELLENCE in every department of our work will be our constant aim. For a more particular account of the nature and design of "THE CHRISTIAN MOTHER'S MAGAZINE," we might refer our readers to the prospectus published early in the present year.† We rather, however, avail ourselves of the present occasion, to present to them afresh, a brief statement of our intentions with respect to the future management of the Magazine which they have distinguished by their approbation. In papers professedly RELIGIOUS, it will be in future, as it has been hitherto, our main endeavour to exhibit and to recommend, in their fulness and "their healing influence," the FUNDAMENTAL AND DISTINGUISHING DOCTRINES OF THE GOSPEL.
