such as do stand; to comfort and help the weak-hearted; to raise up them that fall; and finally to give them the victory over all temptations.

People. May they obtain mercy, and find grace to help, in every time of need. Minister. May it please thee to succour, help, and comfort all that are in danger, necessity, and tribulation.

People. Consider their trouble, O God; supply their wants; and know thou their souls in their adversity.

Minister. May it please thee to give, and preserve to our use, the kindly fruits of the earth; so that in due time we may enjoy them.

People. Suffer not seed-time and harvest to fail; but still cause the earth to yield her increase, and crown the year with thy goodness.

Minister. May it please thee to give us true repentance; to accept our unfeigned contrition; to forgive all our sins, negligences, and ignorances; and to endue us with the grace of thy holy Spirit to amend our lives according to thy holy word.

People. O let thy mercy reclaim us from

every evil way, and restore us to the joys of thy salvation.

Minister. Glory be to God in the highest : People. And on earth peace, good-will towards men. Amen.

HE

Intercessory Prayer.

[EAVENLY Father, we beseech thee to keep and strengthen in the true worshiping of thee, and in righteousness and holiness of life, thy servant VICTORIA, Our Queen. Rule her heart in thy faith, fear and love; that she may evermore put her trust in thee, and ever seek thy honour and glory. Be thou her Defender and Keeper: prosper thou her righteous undertakings: and may it please thee, O Lord, to bless and preserve all the Royal family.

Illuminate the ministers of Christ's holy gospel in every church, with true knowledge and understanding of thy word; that both by their living and preaching, they may set it forth and shew it accordingly.

Endue the Lords of the Council, and both Houses of Parliament, and all who are placed in exalted stations of confidence

and authority, with wisdom, integrity, and understanding. Direct and bless our Judges and Magistrates, giving them grace to execute justice and to preserve peace.

Spread thy truth, O Lord, through all lands, and open all hearts to its reception. Send down thy Spirit on the labours and inquiries of the truth-seeking and the upright under every religious dispensation : and hasten thou the time, when the whole earth shall be blessed with the knowledge of thy truth, and thy name shall be honoured from the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same. Amen.

Concluding Prayer.

ALMIGHTY God, the fountain of all

wisdom, who knowest our necessities before we ask, and our ignorance in asking; we beseech thee in thy great mercy to have compassion on our infirmities; and those things, which for our unworthiness we dare not, and for our blindness we cannot, ask, vouchsafe to give us, in the abundance of thy grace, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

THE

Benediction.

HE Lord bless and keep us; the Lord make his face to shine upon us, and be gracious unto us; the Lord lift up his coun

tenance upon us, and give us peace. Amen.

FOURTH SERVICE.

WE

The People standing.

E will sing unto the Lord as long as we live we will sing praise to our God while we have our being.

Our meditation of him shall be sweet: we will be glad in the Lord. Psalm civ. 33, 34.

O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!

For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Romans, xi. 33, 36.
