all them that are admitted into the fellowship of Christ's religion, that they may shun those things which are contrary to their profession, and follow all such things as are agreeable to the same, through our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

GOD, the unchangeable and everlasting fountain of life, perfection, and happiness, we lift up our hearts unto thee, the greatest, wisest, and best of beings. From the contemplation of thy works, may we daily increase in the knowledge of thee; attain to more pure and worthy conceptions of thy nature and providence; and ever manifest a becoming reverence for thy perfections, and a just concern for thy honour and service. Under a deep sense of thy Almighty power, we would avoid thy displeasure, as the worst of evils. From a full persuasion, that thou art wise in counsel, faithful in thy promises, and righteous in all thy ways, we repose an unreserved confidence in all the measures of thy providence : as a Being perfectly good, we would love thee with all our hearts, and rejoice in thy universal government. Above all, we desire to yield a cheerful obedience to thy com

mandments; and by the persevering love and practice of righteousness in this transitory life, we humbly pray that we may at length be prepared for thy glorious worship, in that which is future and eternal. Amen.

Intercessory Prayer.

ALMIGHTY God, may these lands of our nativity continue in the enjoyment of the mercies which thou hast so long vouchsafed unto them. Bless our Queen with the spirit of wisdom and holiness. Aid her with upright and intelligent counsellors. May her rule be founded in justice and exercised in that under her we may mercy; live in all quietness and integrity, a people whose God is the Lord. Bless her Consort and her offspring, and all the members of the Royal family. May her household be filled with that peace which cometh from thee alone. May our Nobles and great men adorn, by a virtuous example, the elevated stations which they fill. May our Senators pursue with a single eye and an honest purpose, the true interest and happiness of every class within the realm. May our Judges and Magistrates be firm and resolute

to uphold the right and punish the wrong. May all who minister in spiritual things, of every persuasion, be animated with courage and holiness, with patience and humility, with prudence and zeal; that they may faithfully declare and enforce thy will, and by a pure life and a gentle spirit and wise instruction, may so reclaim men from the power of evil, that at the last day, the souls which they have saved may be their glory and crown of rejoicing. Amen.

ALMIGHTY and everlasting God, by whose Spirit the whole body of thy universal Church is governed and sanctified, receive our earnest supplications on behalf of all our fellow-Christians; that they may, through thy grace, be so led into the knowledge of all saving truth, and in their vocation here on earth may so truly serve thee in purity of heart and righteousness of life, as finally to obtain acceptance with thee, through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ: and, O most merciful God, who hast compassion upon all men, and hatest nothing that thou hast made, but desirest that all should be converted and live; have mercy, we beseech thee, upon all heathens and un

believers; take from them all blindness of understanding and hardness of heart and contempt of thy word; and so fetch them home, blessed Lord, from their unhappy wanderings, and gather them into thy flock, that they may finally be saved among the children of the kingdom; and thus all men over all the earth may be made one fold, under one shepherd, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Concluding Prayer.

THOU hearer of prayer, forasmuch as without thee we are not able to please thee, mercifully accept the supplications and thanksgivings, which we have now offered before thee, and grant that in all things henceforth, thy holy Spirit may direct and rule our hearts, as the disciples of thy Son: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven; give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive them that trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: for thine is

the kingdom, and the power and the glory, for ever and ever.

Amen.

Benediction.

THE grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the holy Spirit, be with us all evermore. Amen.
