J. R. Turney is a member of firm of Carter, Jones & Turney and is vice president in charge of law, receiving from firm in 1929, $15,000; in 1932, $13,500. A. H. Kiskaddon, as assistant general solicitor, receiving from firm, in 1929, $10,000; in 1932, $9,000.

None of the holders of the above positions received any additional salary from any other operating com panies as of March, 1932, except that respondent has no accurate information as to compensation received by counsel for receivers from operating companies not connected or affiliated with Seaboard Air Line Ry. The officers holding the above-mentioned positions in March, 1932, are also officers of a number of operating and nonoperating subsidiary companies and a portion of their salaries (which is paid to them by the Seaboard Air Line) is charged to such companies in a lump-sum charge for services rendered to such companies but the amount referable to the salary of each officer and employee has not been segregated in such lump sum charge. Salaries and wages of the receivers and all officers and employees were reduced 10 per cent, effective Feb. 1, 1932, except counsel for receivers.

President's salary was $50,000 for the period Mar. 1, 1920, to Nov. 1, 1927, $40,000 for the period Nov. 17, 1927, to Jan. 16, 1930, and $50,000 thereafter, except between the periods Aug. 1, 1921, to Oct. 1, 1923, and July 1, 1930, to Dec. 24, 1930, salary was temporarily reduced $2,880 per annum.

Rates for these positions prior to appointment of present encumbents on Nov. 17, 1927, were in excess of the rates that have been in effect at any time subsequently to that date.

The compensation of these 2 positions was $30,000 each as of Mar. 1, 1932, but was reduced to $24,000 each effective June 1, 1932.
