SIR: In compliance with the act of Congress of August 26, 1842, and a resolution of the House of Representatives of January 13, 1846, I have the honor to transmit herewith a statement showing the names of the clerks, messengers, and other persons employed in this office during the year 1851; their residence when appointed, time employed, salary, and the amount paid to each.
