SIGNERS OF THE DECLARATION.

ELOW is given a list of those immortal men whose names

were affixed to that magna charta of our liberties, the Declaration of Independence, with the states they represented, their places and date of birth and date of death. It will be noted that Benjamin Franklin was the oldest of those who signed, being seventy years of age, while the youngest was Edward Rutledge, who was but twenty-five. The former survived the Declaration fourteen years and the latter twenty-five years, living to see the government firmly established. The first signer that died was John Morton of Pennsylvania, in April, 1777, nine months after his signature was attached; while the last survivor was Charles Carroll of Carrollton, who died on the fourteenth of November, 1832, fifty-six years, four months and ten days after the Declaration was promulgated:
