The question recurred on the amendment posed yesterday, by Mr. Grosvenor, and undecided at the time of adjournment; and being stated,

Mr. Taylor, of N. Y. moved to amend the said amendment. by striking out the whole thereof, after the word "that" at the commencement, and to insert the following:

"The act entitled "An act to change the mode of compensation to the members of the Senate and House of Representatives, and the delegates from Territories, approved March 19th, 1816, be, and the same is hereby repealed."

The question was then taken on the amendment proposed by Mr. Taylor.

It was determined in the affirmative.

The amendment proposed by Mr. Grosvenor, as amended on the motion of Mr. Taylor, was then agreed to by the House.

A motion was then made by Mr Forsyth, further to amend the bill, by inserting the following section, as the second thereof:

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the accounts of the members of the Senate and of the House of Represen tatives, and of the delegates from the Territories, for services rendered during the present Session, shall be adjusted and settled in the same maoner, and by the same rule, as if the act repealed by this act, had never been passed.

Mr. Randolph moved to amend the said amendment by striking out these words "for services rendered during the present Session."

And debate arising thereon.
