The following letters having recently appeared in the “ Somerset County Gazette,” were considered sufficiently important to appear in another form before the public. In yielding to the wishes of others by publishing these letters, I considered that it was the best mode of bringing the important subject of them before the religious world, and submitting it to the ordeal of public opinion. I was induced to write them, in consequence of seeing that attempts were being made to prove the statements put forth by the Oxford Party in the “ Tracts for the Times” untrue, and unscriptural.
