SIR-In compliance with the law in this case made and provided, I hereby transmit the annual report of the Nebraska State Board of Agriculture for the year 1896.

PROCEEDINGS.

SEMI-ANNUAL MEETING.

OMAHA, NEB., September 3, 1896.

In compliance with law, date and place fixed by the President, the Board convened in the Board of Managers' room, on Fair grounds, date above named.

Present: Barnes, Furnas, Dinsmore, Dunham, Stewart, Searle, Doolittle, and Bassett, members of the State Board proper. No presidents nor delegates from county societies.

Messrs. Furnas, Barnes, and Dinsmore were appointed delegates to the Western and Eastern District Fair Association to be held in Chicago in November, 1896.

J. B. Dinsmore was appointed delegate to the American Shorthorn Breeders' Association to meet in Chicago during same week with Fair Association.

No further business being presented the Board adjourned sine die.

ANNUAL MEETING.

LINCOLN, NEB., January 19, 1897.

In compliance with provisions of law in this case provided, the Nebraska State Board of Agriculture this day convened in the Chapel Hall of the University of Nebraska, and at 4 o'clock P.M. was called to order by the President.

ROLL CALL.

On roll call there were found present:

OFFICERS.-E. A. Barnes, President; W. A. Poynter, First Vice President; J. B. McDowell, Second Vice President; Ed. McIntyre, Treasurer; Robt. W. Furnas, Secretary.
