Deut. 3:24. "They sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints" Rev. 15:3. shall we be able to magnify him? for he is great above all his works. The Lord is terrible and very great, and marvellous in his power. When ye glorify the Lord, exalt him as much as ye can; for even yet will he far exceed: and when ye exalt him, put forth all your strength, and be not weary; for ye can never go far enough. Who hath seen him that he might tell us? and who can magnify him as he is?" Ecclus. 44:28-31.

"After these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God. And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia. And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him both small and great. And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia " Rev. 19:1, 4-6.

This Psalm "draws together, as it were, all the faith and hope, all the fears and prayers, all the thankfulness and joy of the Church, and sets it forth in one mighty Hallelujah, realizing the blessings the first Psalm opens with. It enumerates all the instruments used in the choral worship of the Jewish temple, typifying by them all the powers of our intellect and affections, and intimating the melody and joy of that true worshipping of God, the perfection of which will be found hereafter in the music and the praise of heaven."Plain Commentary.
