A Song of Victory.

1 Hallelujah. Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints. Verses 5, 9. Ps. 150. This Psalm "draws together, as it were, all the faith and hope, all the fears and prayers, all the thankfulness and joy of the Church, and sets it forth in one mighty Hallelujah, realizing the blessings the first Psalm opens with. It enumerates all the instruments used in the choral worship of the Jewish temple, typifying by them all the powers of our intellect and affections, and intimating the melody and joy of that true worshipping of God, the perfection of which will be found hereafter in the music and the praise of heaven."Plain Commentary.
