Writer and photographer Nicholas Gill (Chilean Lake District, Chiloe, The Carretera Austral, and Easter Island chapters) is based in Lima, Peru and Brooklyn, New York. His work appears in publications such as Conde Nast Traveler, Islands, Forbes Traveler, World Hum, and The Columbus Dispatch. He has also authored numerous travel guides on Latin American countries. Caroline Lascom (front of book chapters, as well as Santiago, Around Santiago, La Serena & the Elqui Valley, and the Desert North chapters) has spent much of the last decade traveling through Latin America, working as a freelance travel writer. She has authored and contributed to many guidebooks. Her credits include Footprint guides to Havana, Lisbon, Mexico, and Costa Rica, the Rough Guide to Mexico, and Insight Guide Chicago.

Christie Pashby (Southern Patagonia & Antarctica) is the author of Frommer´s Banff & Jasper National Parks and co-author of Frommer’s Argentina, Frommer’s Chile and Frommer’s Best Hikes in BC. Christie divides her time between the Canadian Rockies and Bariloche, Argentina. A freelance journalist and translator, she also somehow finds the time to run a small guiding business with her husband, and cram in two ski seasons a year.
