Benediction of Tabernacle, Uessels, and Westments, to be used in Holy Offices.

Let us pray.

REVENT us, O Lord, in all our doings, with Thy most gracious favour, and further us with Thy continual help; that in all our works begun, continued, and ended, in Thee, we may glorify Thy holy Name, and finally by Thy mercy attain everlasting life; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

R. Amen.

Our help standeth in the Name of the Lord:
R. Who made heaven and earth.
Blessed be the Name of the Lord:
R. From henceforth even for ever.
The Lord be with you;

R. And with thy spirit.

L

ET us pray, my beloved brethren, that the Almighty God, from whom proceeds the grace of Blessing and Consecration, may vouchsafe, through our Ministry, to consecrate and bless this receptacle for the preservation [or, these Vessels to be used in the consecration and communion] of the holy Sacrament of the Body and Blood of Jesus

Christ our Lord, who endured the Passion of the Cross for the salvation of us all.

R. Amen.

[Note. This Bidding is not to be used in the Benediction of Vestments, but only the Introductory Collect and Versicles.]

¶ Then shall follow the proper Prayer and Benediction, as under:

A

Prayer before the Benediction of a Tabernacle or
Chest for reservation of the Holy Sacrament.

LMIGHTY and Everlasting God, who by the

hand of Moses didst command Thy servant Aaron to take of the Manna, which Thou didst send down from heaven for the food of Thy people Israel, and to lay up the same to be kept continually before Thee; who hast declared by Thy well-beloved Son that Thou givest unto those who believe, to eat of the Living Bread which cometh down from heaven and giveth life unto the world; Vouchsafe to accept, consecrate, and bless this receptacle, that therein the most holy Sacrament of the Body and Blood of Christ may be continually preserved, for the honour of Thy Name, and for the spiritual food and nourishment of our souls: through the same our Lord Jesus Christ, who liveth and reigneth with Thee and with the Holy Ghost, One God, world without end. R. Amen.

The Benediction.

E bless, consecrate, and dedicate this Tabernacle for the reception and preservation of the holy Sacrament of the Body and Blood of Christ. In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.

¶ Prayer before the Benediction of Vessels for the Service of the Altar.

A

LMIGHTY and Everlasting God, who in ordaining the sacrifices of the Law, which were figures of the true, didst command Thy servant Moses to anoint and consecrate all the Vessels of the sanctuary; who hast given unto us, Thine unworthy servants, to believe in that true Sacrifice which taketh away the sins of the world; Vouchsafe to accept, consecrate, and bless [this paten; or, this chalice; or, these vessels] to be used in the consecration and administration of the holy Eucharist of Thy Son Jesus Christ our Lord: Who, having died upon the cross for our salvation, hath given Himself to be our spiritual life and food, and who now reigneth with Thee and with the Holy Ghost, One God, world without end.

R. Amen.

The Benediction.

E bless, consecrate, and dedicate [this paten; or, this chalice; or, these vessels] for the service of the Altar, to be used in the administration of the holy Eucharist of our Lord

Prayer before the Benediction of Vestments.

Let us pray.

LMIGHTY and Everlasting God, who by Thy servant Moses didst ordain the use of holy garments by Aaron and his sons for glory and for beauty; and who vouchsafest to admit to the priesthood and ministry of Thy house, those whom Thou

callest and ordainest in the Body of Thy Christ; We beseech Thee to accept, consecrate, and bless these holy Vestments, to be used in the sacred ordinances of Thy worship and for the glory of Thy Name. And grant that all they who shall use the same, in approaching unto Thine Altar and ministering in holy things, may fulfil their sacred duties in purity and holiness; to Thine honour and glory, through Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with Thee and the Holy Ghost, One God, world without end.

R. Amen.

WE

The Benediction.

consecrate, and dedicate

these Vestments for the service of the Altar, and for the Ministry of those fulfilling their holy offices at the same. In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. R. Amen.

After the Benediction, the following Prayer shall be offered:

Let us pray.

LMIGHTY GOD, Giver of all good gifts, and from whom all blessing and sanctity perpetually flow; Regard, we beseech Thee, the prayers of Thy humble servants, and confirm with the operation of Thy heavenly grace those things which in Thy Name we have said and done. And vouchsafe of Thine infinite goodness that [this tabernacle; or, these vessels; or, these vestments], which we have blessed in Thy Name, may be acceptably used in the sacred offices of Thy house, and in the worship

which Thou hast ordained unto Thine own glory. Hear us, for the sake of Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with Thee, O Father, in the unity of the Holy Ghost, One God, world without end. R. Amen.

Prayer to be offered immediately after the Introductory Collect and Versicles, when the Offering to be blessed is the Gift of an Individual.

A

LMIGHTY GOD, by whose word and power all things were made, and from whose gift cometh whatsoever we enjoy; We humbly beseech Thee, that Thou wilt look down from the Throne of Thy Majesty, and wilt accept and sanctify this the oblation of Thy faithful servant. Receive from his hand, we beseech Thee, these gifts which he presents; and vouchsafe Thy benediction, that they may abide consecrated unto the use of Thy Sanc.tuary. And forasmuch as, for the honour of Thy love, Thy servant hath sought to advance the goodly order of Thy house, do Thou recompense unto him great things for small; forgive unto him, we beseech Thee, for the sacrifice of Thy Son our Lord, all his sins; accept his devotion; increase his faith; comfort him with Thy favour; protect and deliver him in all adversities; grant unto him the fruits of his charity and the record of his good deed; and receive him to Thine everlasting Kingdom in the world to come; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with Thee, O Father, and with the Holy Ghost, One God, world without end. R. Amen.
