Drder for the Administration of Holy Baptism. ¶ On coming into the Church, the Candidate for Baptism, with the Sponsors, shall remain near the entrance, or at some convenient place near the baptistery or font. If the person to be baptized have been previously admitted a Catechumen, the Priest (after prayer at the altar) shall commence with the Exhortation immediately preceding the Confession: but if otherwise, he shall come down to the Candidate and Sponsors, and commence as follows: LMIGHTY GOD, from whom thou seekest the gift of faith, and of that eternal life which is the portion of them that believe, Grant unto thee all thy desire, and fulfil in thee the good pleasure of His will. R. Amen. T THIS is life eternal, that thou shouldest know the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom He hath sent. And the true faith is this, that thou worship One God in Trinity, and Trinity in Unity; neither confounding the Persons, nor dividing the substance. For there is one Person of the Father, and another of the Son, and another of the Holy Ghost. But the Godhead of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, is all One, the Glory equal, the Majesty co-eternal. A Here all shall kneel. Let us pray.
