ISAIAH lii. 7.-How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace, that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation, that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth. Thy watchmen shall lift up the voice, with the voice together shall they sing; for they shall see eye to eye, when the Lord shall bring again Zion.

PSALM Xcii. 13.-Those that be planted in the house of the Lord, shall flourish in the courts of our God.

PSALM XCV. 6. O come, let us worship, and fall down, and kneel before the Lord our Maker: For he is the Lord our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand.

GLORY be unto thee, O Father Almighty, through whose mercy the day-spring from on high hath again visited us, and the light of another Sabbath hath dawned upon our souls. What thanks and praise are due unto thee for calling off our thoughts and pursuits from this vain world, and for setting before us a happier and a better! Our song shall be always of thy loving-kindness, O Lord, and with our mouth we will daily show forth thy praise. We adore thy wisdom and power in the things thou hast made, and we acknowledge our dependence upon thee, and thy great goodness and bounty to us, and to all the world. We bless thee that thou didst so love the world, as to send thy Son Jesus Christ to redeem it. And we humbly thank thee for the graces and consolations of the Holy Ghost, the Comforter. All thanks, and praise, and worship, be given to God the Father who

created us, to Jesus Christ who redeemed us, and to the Holy Ghost who sanctifieth us.

We look up unto thee, O Lord, from whom all good things do come; for thy blessing on this day, which thou hast hallowed for thyself. Grant that it may be a season of refreshing from thy presence; a day of merciful visitation to our souls. Shut out from our minds all worldly cares and thoughts; and fill us with all holy desires and meditations. Bless us, O Lord, with all spiritual blessings in Jesus Christ: bless us, we pray thee, in turning away every one of us from our iniquities. Wash us in the fountain of that blood which cleanseth from all sin. Clothe us with that robe of righteousness, which is, by faith of Jesus Christ, upon all them that believe.

Prepare us for the various duties which are now before us. Sanctify unto us Sanctify unto us thy appointed means of grace. Send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead us to thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacle. Thither may we go with joyful feet; waiting for thy loving-kindness in the midst of thy temple; joining thy people in the praise that awaiteth thee there; praying unto thee in the Spirit; hearing and receiving thy word; and faithfully performing our vows. So may we give unto thee the honor that is due unto thy name, and worship before thee with holy worship. And wilt thou, O Lord, hear the voice of our humble petitions, when we cry unto thee, and lift up our hands towards thy mercy-seat.

Grant that we may improve not only the ordinances of thy temple, but every other advantage of this sacred day, to the purpose for which thou hast vouchsafed it. Help us carefully to examine our hearts and our ways, to search thy Scriptures, to meditate on thy glorious perfections, to talk of all thy wondrous works, and to prepare ourselves for thy everlasting kingdom.

[Here may be used a Collect for any Festival, or particular occasion, of a public or domestic nature.]

Shed abroad abundantly thy heavenly grace on all congregations of Christians; particularly on that which shall assemble with us in the same house of prayer. Awaken the careless; bind up the broken-hearted; strengthen the weak; and build up all thy servants in their most holy faith. And, since thou hast promised to be with thy mistering servants always, even unto the end of the world, we beseech thee plenteously to endue with heavenly gifts such as shall stand up in thy name this day; particularly him who is appointed to declare thy counsel unto us. May they preach with all earnestness, as those who stand between the living and the dead, and watch for souls, as they that must give account. Remember for good as many as through sickness, or other impediment, may be unable to attend the ordinances of thy house. Cause such as draw nigh unto thee with their lips, while their heart is far from thee, to feel that thou

regardest their prayers as an insult and provocation. Look in mercy upon all who have hitherto neglected thy Sabbaths. Teach them so to redeem the time which they have lost, that they may be numbered among thy true people. And grant that every return of this hallowed day may be the means of furthering thy glory, and the everlasting salvation of the souls of men, through Jesus Christ, our only Mediator and Advocate. Amen.

Sunday Noon.

LUKE iv. 8-Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

PSALM Xxii. 27.—All the ends of the earth shall remember, and turn unto the Lord; and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before him.

PSALM 1xxii. 8.—He shall have dominion from sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the earth. Yea, all kings shall fall down before him; all nations shall serve him. His name shall endure for ever; his name shall be continued as long as the sun; and all nations shall call him blessed.

PSALM CX. 3.-Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power.

HEB. i. 6.—When he, (the Father,) bringeth in the first begotten into the world he saith, Let all the angels of God worship him. But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever.

ISAIAH XlV. 21.—There is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour. Look unto me and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else. I have sworn by myself, the word has gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, that unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.

PHIL. ii. 10.-At the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

REV. vii. 9. After this I beheld, and lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;

10. And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.

REV. v. 11.—And I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne, and the beasts, and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;

12. Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honor, and glory, and blessing.

13. And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honor, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb, for ever and ever.

PRAYER FOR SUNDAY NOON, or any intermediate time of the day, when the family, or any two or three members of it, would engage in devotion.
