3 When heaven, thy beauteous work on high,
Employs my wond’ring sight;
With stars of feebler light ;-
To keep him in thy mind?
To them so wondrous kind?
To thy celestial train;
O'er all thy works to reign.
The beasts that prey or graze;
The fish that cuts the seas.
Within this earthly frame,
How glorious is thy name!
1 TO celebrate thy praise, O LORD,
I will my heart prepare;
Thy wondrous works, declare.
Exalted pleasures bring ;
His righteous throne prepared,
To punish or reward.
4/All those who have his goodness proved,
Whose mercy ne'er forsook the man
5 Sing praises therefore to the LORD,
From Sion, his abode; V
Proclaim his deeds, till all the world
Confess no other God.
PSA L M 9. C. M.
From the xi. Psalm of David.
And righteous throne, above;
For trial does correct,
Whom he abhors, expect?
Shall in one tempest shower;
With signal favor grace,
The brightness of his face,
PSALM 10. C. M.
From the xiii. Psalm of David.
Must I for ever mourn ?
Oh! never to return ?
Restore thy wonted light,
In death's most gloomy night.
Beneath thy mercy's wing,
My heart with joy shall spring.
To thee, my God, ascend,
Such bounty didst extend,
1 THE LORD look'd down from heaven's high
And all the sons of men did view,
If any truth or justice knew;
All were degen'rate grown and base ;
Not one of all the sinful race.
When his just wrath shall them o'ertake
And never will their cause forsake.
His might, and burst th' oppressive band !
Should loudly echo through the land.
1 LORD, who's the happy man that may
To thy blest courts repair,
But to inhabit there?
Whom righteousness directs;
The thing his heart rejects.
His neighbor's fame to wound;
By malice whisper'd round.
Can treat with just neglect;
5 Who to his plighted vows and trust
Has ever firmly stood;
He makes his promise good. 6 Whose soul in usury disdains
His treasure to employ ;
The guiltless to destroy.
Has happiness insured,
PSALM 13. C. M.
From the xvi. Psalm of David.
Whose precepts give me light; (
In sorrow's dismal night.
To his all-seeing eye; ! No danger shall my hopes remove,
Because he still is nigh.
My glory does rejoice;
Waked by his powerful voice.
The least corruption see.

To various paths of human kind;
With thee shall wondrous mercy find.
The pure thy purity shall see:
Shall meet with due returns from thee.
And crush the haughty's boasted might,
Whose darkness he has turn’d to light.
But God, on whom my hopes depend?
Can with resistless power defend ?
The rock on whose defence I rest!
Who me with his salvation bless'd !
My grateful voice to heaven I 'll raise;
Shall learn to sing thy glorious praise.
