The bill entitled "An act to erect the town of Horseheads, from the town of Elmira, in the county of Chemung," was read a third time.

The Senate bill entitled "An act to authorise the appraisal and payment of canal damages to Frederick Gosskoff," was taken up for a third reading;

On motion of Mr. R. Dunlap, and by unanimous consent, Said bill was amended, by striking out the second section, and inserting the following: § 2. The treasurer shall pay, on the warrant of the Auditor, such sum, if any, as may be awarded under the first section of this act, to said Frederick Gosskoff, out of any money in the treasury appropriated, or to be appropriated to the payment of canal damages."

Said bill was then read a third time.

Mr. Randall gave notice that he would, at some future day, ask leave to introduce a bill to incorporate a savings bank in the village of Elmira.

Mr. Benedict gave notice that he would, at an early day, ask leave to introduce a bill amending the charter of the Granite in

surance company.

Mr. Mosely Hutchinson gave notice that he would, at some early day, ask leave to introduce a bill to authorise a committee appointed by the board of supervisors of the county of Cayuga, to sell the real estate and other property belonging to the poor fund of said county, and to discontinue the office of superintendent of poor thereof.
