THE Proprietors of this Work beg leave respectfully to state to the Public, that the present Edition was corrected for the Press by the late Mr. DEBRETT ; and the printing superintended by him, and nearly completed, within a few days previous to his decease, which took place on the 15th of the last month. The few remaining sheets have been carefully superintended, and such alterations as have taken place since the commencement of the printing, are inserted among the preliminary matter. The Proprietors feel it incumbent on them to state, that no pains or expense will be spared to render the future Editions of this Publication not unworthy the continuance of that patronage with which it has for so many years been favoured.
