Heb 9.15. And for this caufe he is the mediator of the new Teftament, that by means of death for the redemption of the tranfgreßions that were under the first Teftament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

CHAP. III.

Concerning the Mediator between God and

Man.

Concerning the Mediator between God and man, Chrift Jefus, We must know

and understand these seaven things.

1. What manner of perfon he was; He was God and Man in the fame perfon. The Eternal Son of God, The fecond Perfon in the Trinity took to himself our humane Nature (a humane foul and body) and united it after a wonderfull manner to his Godhead, And fo God and Man became one perfon.

1 Tim.3.16. And without controverfie, great is the mystery of Godlineffe, God was manifeft in the flesh, juftified in the Spirit, feen of Angels, preached unto the Gentiles, beleeved on in the world, received up into Glory.

Rom.9.5. Whole are the Fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Chrift came; who is over all God bleffed for ever, Amen.

John 17.5. And now O Father, glorifie then me with thine own felf, with the Glory which I had with thee before the world was.

Chrift God.

Heb.1.3. Who being the brightneffe of his Glory, and the expreffe Image of his Perfon, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our fins, fate down on the right hand of the Majesty on high. Heb.13.8. Fefus Chrift the fame yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

1 John 5.20. And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding: that we may know him that is true: and we are in him that is true; even in his Son Fefus Chrift: This is the true God, and eternal life. John 17.12. Heb.2.14. Forafmuch then as the Children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewife took part of the fame: that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is the devil.

V.16. For verily he took not on him the nature of Angels,but he took on him the feed of Abraham. V.17. Wherefore in all things it behooved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful High Prieft in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the fins of the people.

Ifa.9.6. For unto us a child is born, unto us a fon is given, and the Government shall be upon his fhoulder, and his name shall be called, Wonderful, Councellor, the mighty God, the everlasting Father, the Prince of peace.

Phil. 2.6. Who being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equall with God.

V.8. And being found in fashion as a man, be humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the Croffe.

1 John 4.3. And every Spirit that confefleth not that Fefus Chrift is come in the flesh is not

1 Tim.3.5. For there is one God, and one Mediator between God and Man, the man Chrift Fefus, Mat.16.13. V.17. And Fefus answered and faid unto him, Bleffed art thou Simon Barjona, for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in Heaven.
