ousness. Let thy fatherly hand be ever upon us; and so lead us in the knowledge of thy truth, and obedience to thy will, that we may obtain everlasting life.

Amen.

OUR Father, &c.

Twelfth Service.

THE law of the Lord is perfect,
Converting the soul:

[ocr errors]

The testimony of the Lord is sure,

Making wise the simple:

The statutes of the Lord are right,

Rejoicing the heart:

The commandment of the Lord is pure,

Enlightening the eyes:

The fear of the Lord is clean,

Enduring for ever:

The judgments of the Lord are true,

And righteous altogether.

Let us Pray.

I.

THOU who art the light of the minds

that know Thee, the life of the souls that love Thee, and the strength of the thoughts that seek Thee, help us so to

know Thee that we may truly love Thee, so to love Thee that we may fully serve Thee, whose service is perfect freedom.

Amen.

II.

JESUS

[ESUS said, "The first of all the commandments is this: Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind."

Lord have mercy upon us, and incline our hearts to keep this law.

And the second is like unto it—namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself."

Lord have mercy upon us, and incline our hearts to keep this law.

"There is none other commandment greater than these. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets."

Lord have mercy upon us, and write these laws in our hearts, we beseech Thee.

III.

THOU who hast taught us that in love to Thee and to our neighbour we keep all the commandments, enable us to love Thee

with our whole heart, and our neighbour as ourselves; endue us with the graces of thy Spirit; kindle in us the fire of thy love; conform us to thy righteous will; and strengthen our weakness by thy power.

Amen.

DELIVER

IV.

us from self-will, from blindness of mind, from hardness of heart, from frowardness of spirit, from foolish desires, from false ambition, and from forgetfulness of Thee and of thy law. Grant us the spirit of true religion, pure and undefiled; the spirit of meekness and forbearance, of modesty and contentment, of patience and humility. These things we ask, through him who has taught us to say,

OUR Father, &c.

GIVE

Thirteenth Service.

IVE unto the Lord glory and strength. Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name.

Worship the Lord in beauty of holiness.

Thus saith the high and lofty One, who inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

He that hath mercy on them shall lead them; even by the springs of water shall he guide them. Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him, and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

WE

Let us Pray.
I.

E come unto Thee, O Father in heaven, with hearts troubled and weighed down by the memory and the burden of our sins.
