The plats not receiving any artificial fertilizers are grouped in Table No. 5, and the yield of grain in pounds and bushels, and of straw in pounds and tons, is given for each plat, together with the average of the 25 plats. In Table No. 6 will be found the yield per acre of grain and straw of each plat receiving an application of special fertilizers, and the average yield per acre of each group of plats receiving the same kind of fertilizer. Berry's Bone Dust, applied in 1869. Baugh's Superphos phate applied in '69. Berry's Superphos phate applied in '69 TABLE No. 6. Yield per acre of plats to which special fertilizers were applied. In Table No. 7 the yield in wheat and straw of several groups of plats is given for convenience of comparison. From this it will be seen that the yield of the plats to which the special fertilizers were applied differs but little from the average yield of all of the nothing plats.-a difference, in fact, less than that observed in the group of nothing plats adjoining that of each group of fertilizers. TABLE No. 7. The average yield per acre for the different fertilizers and the nothing plats. For convenience of comparison, the twenty-five plats not receiving a dressing of special fertilizers have been brought together in Table No. 8, and the results per acre are given for each year of the experiment on each plat, together with the total averagé for each year. TABLE No. 8. Experiments in Field No. 6.-Yield per acre for each year of plats to which no special fertilizers were applied. Baugh's Superphosphate. Berry's Superphosphate. In Table No. 9, the plats receiving the same special fertilizer are grouped together, and the results per acre for each year are given for each plat, together with the average for each group for each year, and the gain in yield of the fertilizers over the undressed plats. Where a loss occurs it is indicated by the minus sign (—) placed before the figures. TABLE No. 9. Experiments in Field No. 6. Yield per acre for each plat to which special fertilizers were applied, for each year of the experiment. Berry's Bone Dust. |
