"HAVE you ever, while walking abroad in the fields, Explored an old bank for the treasures it yields? Have you gather'd forget-me-not, sweet-smelling May,

And join'd with them cowslips and butter-cups gay; Have you then added blue-bells and traveller's joy, Pale primroses, daffodils, violets coy,

Pretty cuckoo-flow'rs, bryony, sweet meadow-grass,
Anemones, woodbine and love's looking-glass;

Have you twined them together with twigs of the briar,
And carried them home for your friends to admire?"
